Mit Insekten Sachsen können Nutzer Beobachtungen von in Sachsen vorkommenden Insekten mitteilen. Für 450 Arten, darunter alle Tagfalter und Heuschrecken sowie Vertreter fast aller einheimischen Insektenordnungen enthält die App Diagnosen und Fotos. Alle einheimischen Tagfalter und Heuschrecken können zudem interaktiv bestimmt werden.Merkmale und Fotos der Insekten sind auf dem Smartphone gespeichert und stehen für die Artbestimmung auch dann zur Verfügung, wenn keine Internetverbindung besteht.Der Nutzer kann sich mit seinem Konto von INSEKTEN SACHSEN (https://www.insekten-sachsen.de) oder Schmetterlingswiesen (https://www.schmetterlingswiesen.de/) anmelden und so eine Fundmeldung abschicken. Eine Registrierung ist auch über die App möglich. Hierfür wird eine Internetverbindung benötigt.Die Fundmeldungen werden auf INSEKTEN SACHSEN geprüft und freigegeben.
